A fabulous piece taken from my personal collection and cannot be replaced. The necklace has a total length of 31.5 inches. A gorgeous vintage elephant ivory netsuke, carved with masterful detail signed by master craftsman Matsumoto. The adorable elephant measures 1.75 inches from top to bottom and from ear to ear about an inch wide. The necklace is strung with alternating 3mm round beads and 10mm rosecarved ivory beads, with an assortment of onyx beads strung above and below the netsuke. The total weight of this piece is 73.2 grams. The ivory displays a warm patina and cross hatched grain is fairly visible throughout the piece. All of our ivory was imported before the trade ban of 1989. This gives our ivory the classification of "pre-ban ivory".
