This beautiful sculpture was carved out of walrus tusk ivory, it is depicting four large sailing ships and a lighthouse. The scrimshaw carving is very detailed with many small intricate lines. Which enhances the features of the ships sharply. This carving has been signed by the artist under the scrimshaw picture. The length of the tusk is 6 3/4 inches with a diameter of 1 3/8 inches at the base. The tusk weighs a solid 114.3 grams.
