A fabulous ivory netsuke carved from a solid piece of ivory. The ivory netsuke measures 1 3/4 inches tall from the top to the bottom and weighs a solid 19.2 grams. This carving has been signed by the artist on the bottom. The netsuke is of a boy carrying a sack, wearing a floral kimono. This ivory netsuke is very well detailed with very intricate hand carving by the artist.The ivory displays a warm patina and cross hatched grain is fairly visible. All of our ivory was imported before the trade ban of 1989. This gives our ivory the classification of "pre-ban ivory" .
